Supporting the Rescue of Kʷiisaḥiʔis (Brave Little Hunter)

Beginning  April 12, Double Bay Sanctuary Manager Nicolette  Audy stayed on-site  in Zeballos for one month to support the rescue of an entrapped orca, Kʷiisaḥiʔis (Brave Little  Hunter). The effort brought together Ehattesaht First Nations, DFO, Bay Cetology, and other partners in a coordinated response aimed  at returning the whale to open ocean conditions. This rescue reflects the power of collaboration grounded in respect, expertise, and urgent care.
