Volunteering Positions Available

 

SPRING & SUMMER 2026 AVAILABILITY

Double Bay Sanctuary is a place of restoration, stewardship, and learning. Volunteering here can look like hands-on work at The Sanctuary, remote support from your home community, or offering a skill we haven’t even thought to ask for yet.
If you feel called to help, we’d love to hear what you can bring.

Onsite Volunteering in Double Bay

Community Outreach and Education

Become boots on the ground for the rebuild and help shape The Sanctuary’s next chapter.
(May 1st- July 30th)

Chef
Plan and cook nourishing meals for the team, support food safety and storage, accommodate dietary needs, and help minimize waste.

Trades Workers
(Rebuild support at “The Sanctuary”)

Trades we’re actively seeking:
• Carpenters
• Plumbers
• Electricians
• Mechanics
• Welders

Painters
Prep, paint, stain, and weatherproof structures.

Maintenance Operations:
Keep systems running smoothly through routine checks, small repairs, tool organization.

Cleaning & Organizing Services
Help maintain shared spaces, and rotation resets, along with deep cleaning and organizing.

Gardeners
Support food resilience and habitat care through planting, weeding, harvesting, and maintaining garden beds.

 

Help strengthen Double Bay Sanctuary. Bring your skills and creativity to support the land and its community.

(Onsite or virtual.)

Strategic Goals:

• Sharing our work with your networks. (online or in person).

• Storytelling. (writing, photography, video, editing).

• Hosting or helping with small community events, talks, or info sessions.

• Connecting us with schools, clubs, local groups, or potential partners.

• Creating simple educational materials, presentations, or lesson ideas.

• Volunteer recruitment and community relationship­-building.

• Graphic design, posters, social content.

• Grant research, sponsorship outreach, donor thank-you support.

• Website support, admin organization, data entry, systems tidy-up.

• Logistics planning. (supply lists, coordination, outreach scheduling).

• Fundraising event support. (auction items, planning, promotion.
